Saturday, October 1, 2011 (7:10pm) - Indian Ocean
i don't remember the story behind it... but my third grade teacher mrs. lopardo taught us to say "rabbit" for good luck on the first day of every month. so... RABBIT!!!! but how in the hell is it already october!? i can't even believe that. on the agenda for october is mauritius, india, malaysia, and vietnam. normal, right? NO! and we have a grand total of 11 days of class this month. still trying to figure out how i'm getting credit for this, but i'm not complaining. makes my whining about my FOUR midterms before india kind of meaningless, but who says that's going to stop me!?
i didn't blob yesterday cus nothing out of the ordinary happened. slept in, went to class, had lunch, came back to bed, went to class, went to dinner, went to work, went to bed. but i did have family dinner which was fun. it's nice getting together after every port and exchanging stories with my "family." seems like everyone loved south africa as much as i did! and yesterday brew & i were kind of annoying for poor jesse our cabin steward. he kept trying to clean our room all day (how dare him!) but we were seriously asleep all day. SORRY JESSE!!!! but eventually we came back and our beds were nice and made and everything was clean. and our bags of clean, folded laundry were on our beds. i could get used to this!
today was pretty much the same old thing. except i just got done with yoga which is always nice and relaxing. one of the students teaches yoga in the union on 'B' days. the ship isn't rocking as much as it was the last time we had yoga so we got to do some cool stuff without falling and breaking our faces.
oh and we're officially around the cape of good hope and into the indian ocean! exciting stuff! i would say i never want to see the atlantic ocean again... but i guess i have to at the end of our voyage. but at that point i think it's going to be a welcomed sight. and i have a confession. the indian ocean looks exactly the same. wah. i mean clearly i know this, i wasn't expecting orange water or anything (though that'd be AWESOME!)... but what happens when i never want to see the ocean again after this voyage. maybe i should transfer to like the university of kentucky or some other landlocked state. uh, yeahhhh... NO!
well i'm gonna go do some homework (boo!) or something. oh and we moved our clocks ahead AGAIN last night. that makes it 10 hours ahead of san diego. so ridiculous. i wonder what my internal clock is going to be once i get home. probably won't even have one... or might have like a mental breakdown that we aren't changing the clocks every other day. when is daylight savings time for you all? isn't it "fall backward"? wait... so i'll be even MORE ahead of you guys. not real lyfe.
over and out.
