agh midterms suck! had two midterms today (ethics and the making of us foreign policy and then global music). tomorrow i have gender and development... then after india i have international organizations. taking five classes sucks! everybody else i know is chillin... but it's okay cus i'll be able to laugh at them when they have to take real classes senior year and i won't. but for now, sleep deprivation is killing me! and the lack of distractions. no facebook to lurk for fifty hours or keeping up with the kardashians to keep me busy. but brew & i discovered (with will's help) all the games that people have begun putting on the public folder. so now in addition to playing angry birds all the time, i can play bubble. tomorrow i plan on downloading mario kart. the pre-teen boy in me is so happy.
we're two days out of india. we had cultural preport earlier tonight and it's basically the same stuff every time... but i was seriously drooling at the pictures of the food. so excited for some spicy curry and anything else they want to throw at me. and india is in the middle of their festival season while we're there so it should be a fun atmosphere. but india seems like a pretty stressful place. what i mean is that there are a lot of people and not a lot of order it seems like. might be another one of those places where i just have to hold on and hope i don't die haha. but really. at the same time i'm really excited for india. for whatever reason, i've spent a lot of time studying india in school... so it'll be cool to actually be there and see everything for myself. i want to eat yummy food, get henna'd EVERYWHERE, see the taj mahal, and not die. best game plan ever.
i think this is our last big stretch of being on the ship until we sail from japan to hawaii next month. i think it's pretty much just 2 or 3 days between ports from here on out. it's going to be really hectic and i have no idea how we're going to manage "school." but that's okay with me. need to start figuring out what we're doing in malaysia, vietnam, and japan. it seemed like we had so much time to figure everything out, but now all those countries are right around the corner. normal, right?
other random stuff... remember my earlier blob about our ghost friend marcus? well marcus sucks these days... brew and i have searched high and low for one of our bags of goldfish. it is gone, and i could not be more sad. i mean, there aren't really very many places for it to be hiding. it might be in our nook... but i can't tell cus there is so much shit in there... but i definitely looked in there like fifty times. wahhhh.
and last night brewer and i went to an explorer seminar that was a q&a with the senior shipboard officers. explorer seminars are usually every night we're sailing and can be about anything. for example, tonight is bollywood dancing. anyways, the q&a was really fun and very informative. did you know that the budget for gas for this voyage is over $4 million!? that's outrageous. anddd the ship consumes on average 28 pounds of peanut butter a day!! and don't worry family, the captain does not have the authority to marry anybody on the ship. sad day.
guess who moves clocks forward again? BUT this time only 30 MINUTES. so weird, right? how is that even possible?? and why aren't we doing this every time? i wouldn't hate changing the clocks so much if we only did it half an hour at a time. so tomorrow we'll be 12.5 hours ahead of san diego. which got me thinking... why didn't we do this voyage the other way. like we should be sailing west, not east. that way i'd be gaining hours of sleep everyday. i can't be the first person to have figured this out... come on semester at sea. you can do better.
okay bed time. signing out from cabin 3011. xoxo.
