malaysia or bust

what's up my people!? so we arrive in malaysia tomorrow. when i saw it on the itinerary when i was applying for sas, i was like "wtf is there to do in malaysia." and 10 hours out from arriving in penang, i'm still feeling just about the same way. should make for an interesting three days.

you'll notice that my location is the straight of malacca today. i could have put that for yesterday too, but i didn't know we were there until global studies this morning. i only mention this because the straight of malacca is pretty significant. while yes, it is still home to lots of pirates... it is also the only route from the indian ocean to the pacific ocean without having to go around australia. and for all you people that are going to go grab a map to be a pain in the ass to prove me wrong, you can't go between indonesia and australia even though there is water there because there are super huge coral reefs that you'll crash and die on. so i guess it's pretty neat that we're here right now.

other than, didn't really do anything out of the ordinary today. except that matt decided not to show up for work today without telling andrew so i had to stay at work for an extra 45 minutes. but it was okay because i was just trying to figure out malaysia anyways and now i have like an hour work credit i can use. winning!

so now i just finished a paper and am going to go shower and go to bed. we make up that last random half hour tonight... so that makes it an even 15 hours ahead of pacific standard time.
