"the greatest ship is friendship" - c.y. tung
now i don't know who this guy is, but i do know he has a giant picture next to the computer lab and not one, but TWO plaques on the wall in the ship. i only mention this because some people long for one post-mortem plaque... but this guy was important enough for two. goes along with my longing for a park bench to be dedicated to me when i die. but not like those cheesy ones at the beach where you can sit and watch the sunset. i want one in like the inner-cities, facing a wall... something ironic like that haha. but anyways, how much fun is that quote!? brew & i died when we discovered it yesterday. it's right above our favorite chairs (the two red ones next to the computer lab), where we sit and write papers and eagerly await emails from you people at home.

in other news, we sailed past madagascar today. my question: why the hell aren't we stopping there!? don't these people know that it's filled with talking, animated animals and raving lemurs!? (watch the movie, if you haven't. worth it!). also, if you're dedicated like some people and tracking my voyage on the SAS website, you'll notice how ridiculously fast we're going right now (24.3 knots if you really wanted to know). why? well "the voice" told us two nights ago that someone on the ship needs immediate medical attention, though it isn't life threatening. um, clearly it's life threatening if we're going this fast! otherwise, why can't we just continue according to plan. so "the voice" said we might land in Reunion before mauritius so this person can get off. turns out we're landing a day early in mauritius, oh but wait... we still can't get off until tuesday. what is wrong with these people!?

currently sicker than a dog! could have something to do with the fact that all the children i spent everyday playing with in the townships in south africa had the gnarliest runny noses everrr. then there's this whole "we don't use utensils" thing... so i had to eat dinner with my hands after accumulating germs that i don't even want to know about. so now, i can't breathe, have a runny nose like it's my job, and the beginning of a fever. sad day, but totally worth it. i blame it on the fact that i haven't had a flu shot. i wonder if they have those on the ship? i'll have to look into that.

oh and tonight was SUPOSSED to be star gazing. if you know me at all you should know how completely obsessed i am with all things stars and moon. so brew and i bundled up and literally just RAN upstairs. turns out, jokes on me. we're going too fast apparently because of whoever is dying so the winds on deck 7 forward are too strong for us to be outside. seriously, this day could not get any worse. so brew is basically laughing her ass off at me cus i'm in sweats, a sweatshirt, and a blanket cus i'm sick but there is no stopping me from gazing some stars. so we decided to walk to the pool deck to at least find a star while we were up there. turns out it's pub night (why are people still going to that anyways? i haven't had a drink card in a month). so this asshole (me) is walking around pub night in a blanket looking for a star. why am i still single??

now i'm laying in bed watching slumdog millionaire. finally a real movie on our tv! but maddy left cus she can't handle the movie. she gave me an ultimatum, "me or slumdog." this is awkward.

my closing thoughts for the night: if a baby was born on the ship, what citizenship would they have? technically, this ship is registered in the bahamas. the shit i think about...

we move our clocks ahead again tonight. surprise surprise. 11 hours ahead now. such a blast.
